GOVERNMENT HOUSE,
HONGKONG, 23rd. April, 1915.
Sir,
17893
I have the honour to confirm my telegram of
the 19th. April, an en clair version of which is enclosed, re- -questing that Mr. G. G. Burnett, Senior Clerk at the Post Office,
should be invalided from the Service.
2.
Mr. Burnett, who will be fifty years of age in
July next, has for some years past been in indifferent health, with
the result that his services have been of but little use; and they
will be of still less value in the event of his return to the
Colony, owing to the fact that a rearrangement of duties at the Post Office requires of the Senior Clerk an active superintendence of the Chinese Postmen, work for which Mr. Burnett would be totally
unfitted.
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE
LEWIS HARCOURT, M.P.,
&c..
&c.
I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient,
humble servant,
Amaz
Governor, &c..
